On the east coast, the city of Shanghai - a vast sprawling and spiraling megapolis, home to its 20 million inhabitants, the city represents the economic growth of modern China. But what lays beyond? what lays towards the vast westward bound territories that connects the middle kingdom to central Asia and Europe?

Our road trip along the Silkroad is an inquisitive one, we seek to discover China on the inside, far from established cities. What goes on along its inner roads? Can we comprehend China's magnitude by covering its geography? What relevance does this ancient route that first connected China to the west have today? With our electric bikes, can we find an answer?
